Preparing you to be a good subject:  What to expect, what to do, how it works  by  C.J. Savage @ 2012

BASIC FACTS ABOUT HYPNOSIS  : All hypnosis is self hypnosis. YOU do ALL the work. I simply guide you. You are in complete control at all times. YOU WILL ALWAYS

HEAR ME, even if you don’t think so. Your physical consciousness may drift off or remain focused on me & you may hear noises around you as well (keep your eyes closed & continue to participate) BUT your super conscious mind (sub-conscious) takes over and that is where all the power lies. It will be re-programmed to reach your goals easily & effortlessly.  You will not FEEL anything.  You are ALWAYS in control.  You CAN OPEN your eyes if you wanted to, but don’t, if you want to continue participating (meaning do what I tell you to do, following my instructions, thinking about what I am talking about)  You can move if you need to but if you can get comfortable and in a position where you don’t have to move, you’ll become more relaxed and at ease and enjoy it more.  YOU’LL BE A GREAT SUBJECT.  ANYONE can be hypnotized IF they want to be. THE ONLY THING THAT CAN KEEP YOU FROM BEING HYPNOTIZED IS YOU – YOURSELF. The ONLY PEOPLE that cannot be hypnotized to a depth that will be helpful are the feeble-minded, the insane and the senile and very young children who have not developed a mind sufficient to focus on a conversation – quite the opposite of what many believe. You can’t do anything wrong. Nothing can go wrong. The only thing I don’t want you to do-   is  to  try  too  hard.  (or you’ll be rigid and stressed)  I just want you to sit back and relax, close your eyes and listen to my voice.  Focus on my voice, each word.  Focusing on each syllable may help you to focus better, thinking ABOUT what I’m saying.  Forget about everything else outside the room and focus on my voice and what I am saying. THERE ISN’T ANY FEELING OF BEING HYPNOTIZED. The only thing you  feel  is  relaxed. Some of you may get kind of relaxed, while others become very very deeply relaxed, so relaxed, you may snore but no one will go to sleep. It may feel like sleep sometimes, but it is not. You don’t have to SAY anything. You don’t have to DO anything.  But you do have to participate.   To participate, means you listen to my voice, thinking about what I’m saying. Like a mind exercise. Sound easy? It is.If your mind wonders and it will, just bring it back to my attention. Try to stay focused on my voice. To Really RELAX, get your tongue off the roof of your mouth, allowing a little space between the teeth to control your tongue, focus on your breathing: feel and listen to yourself, breathing in and out, while focusing on my voice. Then we’ll go into GUIDED IMAGERY.  This is very easy. Thinking about what I am saying,  Allowing the images to flow into your awareness.   For example… if I said, imagine standing inside your house, at the entrance door. Which side of the door is your doorknob on? Right or the left? You didn’t have to actually see a picture or make your mind light up like a movie screen to see it or imagine it. You let that image flow into your awareness when you thought about it. The first guided imagery is simple and easy, yet powerful! Imagine this, when I say, “I want you to imagine a bright white beam of light coming down from the infinite sky, entering your head, filling you up, until it is overflowing, surrounding your body.” It is powerful. It is a cleansing of the soul and it becomes your aura of protection and balance. Just thinking about it, bringing it in, makes it so. You may even feel it, like a warming sensation flowing through you. Then we’ll go to a beautiful place, your place, where you feel secure and safe and enjoy. You can make it up, using your imagination or simply use your memory, thinking about this place of yours. There are no limitations here. It can be anything you want or even your home, using your memory, with all your favorite things around you, how it smells, feels, sounds and people you want near you.  You can make it up, using your imagination or simply use your memory, thinking about this place of yours.  The more detail you think about adding in here, the more real it feels and becomes.
When you’re hypnotized, you will open your eyes within 10 minutes after I tell you to. However, while listening to your CD at home, you may not open your eyes within 10 minutes if you’re tired & are going to sleep anyway after your hypnosis so you will not be hypnotized. To avoid this, make sure you turn your volume up on your hypnosis audio to easily hear & try not to be so tired when you listen or you’ll sleep.
